Recent works by Nova Jiang address two primary concerns of our time: xenophobia and climate change. Through painting and sculpture, images, forms, and materials communicate ideas that exceed language. Familiar elements are juxtaposed and arranged in unexpected ways with the aim of communicating with people on a physical and perceptual level. In this way, Jiang hopes to create work that crosses cultural and linguistic barriers, reaching beyond cultural constructs to the core of what makes us all human.
